Specs vary by model and bundle. Check each product page before you buy, or ask our team to confirm a spec.

Which bundle should you buy?

Most printers come in three tiers. The difference is how much of the finishing equipment ships with the printer.

Starter

  • Printer
  • Starter ink, film, powder
  • RIP software

Pick it if you already own a curing oven and a heat press.

Professional

  • Printer
  • Starter ink, film, powder
  • RIP software
  • Curing oven or shaker

Pick it if you need to cure powder but already own a press.

Professional Plus

  • Curing oven or shaker
  • Heat press

Pick it if you're starting with no equipment at all.

Tier names and contents vary by model. Each listing shows exactly what's in the box.

DTF printer price

A4 and entry A3 bundles are the lowest upfront spend. A3 dual-head and integrated systems sit in the middle, and 24 in production printers are the largest investment.

How a DTF printer works

From file to finished garment in six steps.

  1. PrintRIP software prints CMYK plus a white underbase onto PET film.
  2. PowderAdhesive powder goes onto the wet ink, by hand or with a shaker.
  3. CureAn oven or shaker melts the powder onto the print.
  4. PressThe transfer goes onto the garment under a heat press.
  5. PeelRemove the film, hot or cold depending on the film.
  6. FinishAn optional second press improves durability and feel.

DTF printer buying questions

Can't find your answer? Ask our team.

Which DTF printer should I buy first?

If you're testing demand, start with an A4 or A3 starter bundle such as the Procolored F8, K13 Lite or the xTool Starter Bundle. If you already have steady orders, an A3 model like the F13 avoids an early upgrade. See our beginner DTF printer guide.

What's included in a DTF printer bundle?

It depends on the tier. Starter bundles typically include the printer, starter ink, film, powder and RIP software. Professional bundles add curing equipment, and Professional Plus adds a heat press. Each listing shows the exact contents.

How much does a DTF printer cost?

A4 and entry A3 bundles have the lowest upfront cost, A3 dual-head and integrated systems sit in the middle, and 24 in production printers cost the most. Live prices are on each card above. For budget picks, see DTF printers under $2,500.

A4 vs A3 DTF printer: which do I need?

An A4 printer (about 8 in wide) handles logos, pocket prints and small designs. An A3 printer (13 to 14 in) handles full-front adult shirt designs and fits more designs per run.

When should I move to a 24 in DTF printer?

Move up when you sell gang sheets or wholesale transfers, or when your A3 printer is the bottleneck. See our commercial DTF printers and Audley production printers.

Do I need a separate curing oven or powder shaker?

Yes, unless your bundle includes one or your printer has curing built in, as the xTool Apparel Printer does. Production printers are usually paired with an automatic powder shaker.

Do DTF printers need daily maintenance?

Yes. White ink must keep circulating, and printheads need regular cleaning and moisturizing. Keep spare heads on hand from our printhead range.

Which RIP software comes with these DTF printers?

Procolored bundles include Procolored RIP (Windows only), and the xTool Apparel Printer uses xTool Creative Space. For more color and white underbase control, see our RIP software.

Can DTF printers print on dark garments and polyester?

Yes. DTF prints a white underbase under the color layer, so transfers work on light and dark garments in cotton, polyester and blends.

Where do I buy ink, film and powder for my printer?

Shop DTF supplies for ink, film, powder and supply bundles, or shop by printer to see consumables matched to your model.

Which Procolored DTF printer is right for me?

The F8 suits A4 starters, the K13 Lite and F13 suit full-front A3 work, and the F13 Pro and P13 Win suit higher daily A3 output. Compare the full range on our Procolored DTF printers page.

Can I finance a DTF printer?

Financing options are available. See our financing page for details.

Can someone help me choose the right DTF printer?

Yes. Tell us your monthly order volume, the garments you print and your budget, and we'll recommend a printer and bundle tier. Contact our team.
