CADlink Multi-Printer Add-On: Run a Second DTF Printer on One Licence

Updated: October 14, 2026 · By the DTF Gears team

Quick answer: Yes, you can run a second DTF printer on your existing CADlink Digital Factory V12 licence. You don't need a second licence: add the Multi-Printer Add-On instead. It costs $199.99 for Desktop Edition and $594.99 for Large Format (Production) Edition, which is less than buying another full licence. CADlink activates it on your licence within 1–2 business days.

What does the CADlink Multi-Printer Add-On do?

A standard CADlink Digital Factory licence drives one printer. The Multi-Printer Add-On is a licence upgrade that lets the same licence, on the same computer, drive an additional printer. It includes the extra driver and port you need to set up the second printer queue.

It is not standalone software. You need a CADlink Digital Factory V12 licence (Desktop or Large Format) for the add-on to work.

Add-on vs a second licence: which is cheaper?

Your licence Second full licence Multi-Printer Add-On You save
Desktop Edition $379.99 $199.99 $180
Large Format (Production) Edition $799.99 $594.99 $205

Prices are as of the date above. The live price is always on the product page.

Which add-on do you need?

Match the add-on to the edition you already own:

  • You own Desktop Edition → buy the Desktop Multi-Printer Add-On ($199.99). Desktop Edition is built for smaller setups, such as A3 and A2 printers and rolls up to 17 inches.
  • You own Large Format / Production Edition → buy the Large Format Multi-Printer Add-On ($594.99). Production Edition is built for 24-inch printers and higher-volume shops.

Adding a 24-inch printer but only own Desktop Edition? You'll need Large Format first. The Desktop to Large Format upgrade costs less than buying Production new.

Add-on or second licence: when do you need each?

This is where most shops get confused. A Digital Factory licence runs on one computer at a time. The add-on adds a printer, not a computer.

Your setup What you need
One computer, two DTF printers connected to it Multi-Printer Add-On
Two computers printing at the same time, one printer each A second licence
Moving CADlink to a new computer Nothing extra. Deactivate on the old PC and reactivate on the new one. See our CADlink licence transfer guide.

How to buy and activate the add-on

If you already own CADlink:

  1. Order the add-on that matches your edition.
  2. Reply to your order confirmation email, or email sales@dtfgears.com, with your CADlink licence code.
  3. We send it to CADlink, who activate the upgrade on your licence. This takes 1–2 business days.
  4. You receive an activation code. In Digital Factory, go to Help → Upgrade License and enter it.
  5. Add the second printer queue in Digital Factory and start printing.

If you're buying CADlink for the first time: add the Digital Factory licence and the Multi-Printer Add-On to your cart together. After your order, allow 1–2 business days and you'll receive one activation code that covers both.

What you need before you order

  • A CADlink Digital Factory V12 licence. Still on V11? Upgrade first: V11 to V12 Desktop or V11 to V12 Large Format.
  • A Windows 10 or 11 computer. Digital Factory doesn't run natively on macOS.
  • Both printers supported by your edition. Not sure? Send us both printer models before you order and we'll check.

Is the add-on worth it?

If you're adding a second printer to the same production computer, yes. You save $180–$205 compared with a second licence, keep one set of colour profiles and settings, and manage both queues from one screen.

Buy a second licence instead if each printer will run from its own computer at the same time, for example in two different rooms or locations.

FAQ

Can CADlink Digital Factory run two DTF printers at once?

Yes, with the Multi-Printer Add-On. Without it, one licence drives one printer.

How much is the CADlink Multi-Printer Add-On?

$199.99 for Desktop Edition and $594.99 for Large Format (Production) Edition.

How long does activation take?

1–2 business days. CADlink activates the upgrade on your licence, and you then enter the code under Help → Upgrade License.

Can I use the add-on on a second computer?

No. The add-on adds a printer, not a computer. A licence runs on one computer at a time, so two computers printing at the same time need two licences.

Does the add-on work with CADlink V11?

These add-ons are for Digital Factory V12. Upgrade from V11 to V12 first.

Does it work on a Mac?

No. Digital Factory runs on Windows 10/11.
