Is a 4-in-1 Printer Worth It? xTool O1 Omni vs Buying a DTF and UV Printer Separately

Updated October 2026 · Prices are DTF Gears prices at the time of writing and can change

You want to sell custom T-shirts and hard goods like tumblers, phone cases and acrylic signs. Do you buy one 4-in-1 printer that does both, or a DTF printer for apparel plus a separate UV printer for everything else? This guide answers that with real prices, so you can decide in one read whether the xTool O1 Omni is worth it for your shop.

Buy one 4-in-1 if… You sell a mix of gifts and shirts in small runs
  • One machine, one software, one learning curve
  • Less desk space than two printers
  • Starts at $3,499 for UV + apparel
Shop O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric
Buy two machines if… Apparel is your main product and you print in volume
  • Print shirts and hard goods at the same time
  • A roll-fed DTF printer for gang sheets
  • If one machine is down, the other keeps working

What a "4-in-1" printer actually does

The xTool O1 Omni is a desktop printer with four jobs in one body:

  • Direct UV printing onto rigid items: acrylic, wood, metal, glass, phone cases, with up to 7 mm of raised texture.
  • UV DTF transfers (stickers you apply to cups, bottles and packaging).
  • Direct-to-fabric printing on cotton garments, using the included garment tray and fabric frame.
  • DTF for polyester and blends.

Only the UV + DT Fabric edition prints apparel. The Single-Head and Dual-Head UV editions are UV-only. If T-shirts are part of the plan, that's the edition to compare. All editions are explained in every O1 Omni bundle and spec.

Cost: one 4-in-1 vs a DTF printer + a UV printer

Here's what each route costs at today's DTF Gears prices:

Setup What you buy Price
One 4-in-1 xTool O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric Starter $3,499
One 4-in-1, fully kitted O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric Pro Plus (adds rotary, roll feeder and laminator) $4,669
Two machines, entry Procolored K13 Lite Starter ($1,999) + eufyMake E1 Basic ($2,499) $4,498
Two machines, production xTool Apparel Printer DTF Starter ($5,399) + eufyMake E1 Deluxe ($3,299) $8,698
Don't forget finishing equipment. For apparel you'll want a heat press either way, to press DTF transfers and finish fabric prints. A Procolored H15 auto heat press is $399. A roll DTF printer also needs a way to cure powder: an oven, or an automatic shaker and dryer.

The short version: the O1 Omni is about $1,000 cheaper than the cheapest two-machine setup, and over $5,000 cheaper than a production pair. You pay for that saving in speed, which the next section covers.

4 questions that decide it

1. What share of your orders will be apparel?

If shirts are an add-on to a gift or merch business, one 4-in-1 covers them. If apparel is most of your revenue, a dedicated roll-fed DTF printer will out-produce it, and a separate UV printer handles the rest.

2. Do you take big batch orders?

A school, team or company order for 100 shirts is a gang-sheet job. That's what roll DTF printers like the Procolored K13 Lite or the xTool Apparel Printer do best. For one-offs and small runs, the O1 Omni is the easier tool.

3. How much space and setup time do you have?

Two machines means two maintenance routines and room for curing gear. One O1 Omni fits on a sturdy bench and runs from one app.

4. What's your budget right now?

Under about $4,500, the O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric edition is the only way to cover both apparel and UV hard goods from one purchase. Need it spread out? Financing is available at checkout.

xTool O1 Omni alternatives

Looking for an xTool Omni printer alternative or an xTool Apparel Printer alternative? It depends on which half of the job you actually need.

Our verdict

For a new or small shop selling a mix of personalised gifts and some apparel, the xTool O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric is worth it. It costs less than any two-machine setup, takes less space, and you only learn one system. Once apparel becomes most of your orders and you're printing batches every day, a dedicated DTF printer next to a UV printer pays off through speed and the ability to run both at once.

4-in-1 printer FAQ

Is a 4-in-1 UV printer worth it versus buying a DTF printer and a UV printer separately?

For small shops selling a mix of gifts and apparel, yes. The xTool O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric starts at $3,499, about $1,000 less than the cheapest DTF + UV pair at DTF Gears. Separate machines win when apparel is your main product and you need to print shirts and hard goods at the same time.

Can one printer print T-shirts and hard goods?

Yes. The xTool O1 Omni UV + DT Fabric edition prints UV on rigid items, UV DTF transfers, direct-to-fabric on cotton and DTF on polyester and blends. The Single-Head and Dual-Head UV editions do not print apparel.

Do I still need a heat press with the xTool O1 Omni?

For apparel, plan on a heat press to press DTF transfers and finish fabric prints. A 15 × 15 auto heat press starts at $399 at DTF Gears.

What is a good xTool O1 Omni alternative?

If you don't need apparel, the eufyMake E1 is a compact UV-only alternative from $2,499. If apparel is your main product, pair a DTF printer such as the Procolored K13 Lite with a separate UV printer.

Can I finance an xTool O1 Omni?

Yes. DTF Gears offers financing at checkout. See the financing page for details.
