eufyMake E1 Printhead & Maintenance Guide: Replacement, Station Kit and Cleaning

Updated October 2026 · Based on eufyMake's official service guides. Prices are DTF Gears prices at the time of writing.

The eufyMake E1 takes care of a lot of its own maintenance, but a few parts still wear out, and the printhead is the most expensive one to replace. This guide covers which printhead the E1 uses, how to tell when it needs attention, how to replace it step by step, and the cheaper maintenance parts that keep you from needing a new one.

Quick answer

  • Printhead: the E1 uses its own eufyMake printhead module. Only the genuine E1 replacement printhead ($599.99) fits.
  • Every ~6 months: replace the ink pad and scraper (both in the printhead station kit, $29.99) and the air filter ($34.99).
  • Keep JetClean full: the E1 cleans its own head using the JetClean cleaning cartridge V72B0 ($34.99).
  • Before replacing the head: run cleaning and contact support first. eufyMake only sends a replacement once support confirms the head is damaged.

What printhead does the eufyMake E1 use?

The E1 doesn't use a generic Epson-style head you can swap in from another printer. eufyMake describes it as a printhead module that combines the print head itself, the ink connection for the cartridges, and the ink path controls that switch between printing, cleaning and moisturising. eufyMake doesn't publish a third-party head model number for it.

In practice that means one thing: the only printhead that fits is the genuine eufyMake E1 replacement printhead. It's a quick-release module, so replacing it takes minutes with basic tools (steps below). If you also run other printers, our replacement printhead guide shows which head fits each machine we sell.

Signs your E1 printhead needs attention

eufyMake lists the main printhead symptom as missing colours or abnormal colours in your prints. You might also see:

  • Lines or gaps through solid areas (banding)
  • Stray ink droplets on prints
  • Colours that shift from one print to the next

Try these first. They're much cheaper than a new head:

  1. Run a cleaning cycle from the eufyMake app, and check your JetClean cartridge isn't empty.
  2. Check the printhead station parts. eufyMake says a worn scraper can cause stray droplets and unstable colours, and a worn ink pad weakens head maintenance. Both come in the $29.99 station kit.
  3. Make sure you're using genuine eufyMake E1 UV ink. eufyMake names uncertified third-party ink as one of the causes of head damage.
  4. If the problem persists, contact eufyMake support with your order details, printer serial number, app logs and photos of the prints.
What damages E1 printheads, according to eufyMake: not cleaning the head for long periods, scratches from repeated print failures or rough handling, and uncertified third-party inks. All three are avoidable.

eufyMake E1 maintenance schedule

These are eufyMake's own intervals. The printer also shows reminders in the app for most of them.

Part What it does When to replace Buy
Ink pad Seals the printhead and collects waste ink during automatic cleaning About every 6 months, at the app reminder, or when cleaning gets weaker Station kit $29.99
Scraper Wipes leftover ink off the printhead About every 6 months, together with the ink pad, or when you see stray droplets Same station kit
Foam pad Soaks up small leaks at the cartridge connections Check every 6 months; replace when it's nearly saturated Same station kit
Air filter Activated carbon that reduces printing odours About every 6 months, at the reminder, or when odours get stronger Air filter $34.99
JetClean cleaning cartridge Supplies the fluid for the E1's automatic head cleaning When the app shows it's low JetClean V72B0 $34.99
Adhesive mat Holds items flat on the platform When it stops gripping, is stained with ink, or curls. Rinse with water; no alcohol on the sticky side. Included with the printer
Simple routine: put the station kit and air filter on the same six-month reminder. At about $65 for both, it's the cheapest insurance you can buy for a $599.99 printhead.

The printhead station replacement kit (V72D0)

The eufyMake E1 printhead station replacement kit (eufyMake part V72D0) contains the ink pad, scraper and foam pad, so you can replace all three in one sitting. eufyMake recommends changing the ink pad and scraper together. When you fit the new ink pad, check that its rubber plug is intact, and use only one foam pad layer per cartridge position.

How to replace the eufyMake E1 printhead, step by step

If you're looking for an eufy print head replacement walkthrough, this follows eufyMake's official procedure for the eufyMake E1 print head. The app guides you through each stage, so keep your phone next to the printer.

You'll need:

  • Nitrile gloves
  • 2.5 mm hex key
  • Lint-free cloth
  • The new E1 printhead
  1. Update everything. Update the eufyMake app and the printer firmware to the latest versions.
  2. Start replacement mode. In the app, go to Device → Component Lifespan → Print Head → Replace, and follow the prompts. Let the printer run its moisturising step. Don't power off or pull cartridges while it does.
  3. Open the printer. When the head moves to the centre, press both lower sides of the translucent top cover to lift it off. Then open the flip cover above the head with both hands, using steady, moderate force so the clips don't break.
  4. Protect the encoder strip. Lay the lint-free cloth over the encoder strip. UV ink on the strip can affect print accuracy.
  5. Raise the docking assembly. Loosen its two screws with the 2.5 mm hex key and lift the assembly all the way up. If it isn't fully raised, the head can jam.
  6. Prepare the new head. Unpack it, remove the silicone plug from the ink inlet, and peel the protective film off the print surface. Don't touch the print surface on the bottom.
  7. Swap the heads. Hold the quick-release handle, support the carriage with your other hand, and pull the old head straight out. Insert the new one and push until it clicks. Check that the mount is free of debris first.
  8. Lock it in. Press both sides of the docking assembly down until fully seated, tighten the two screws, snap the flip cover back on, and remove the cloth from the encoder strip.
  9. Initialise. Tap Initialize Now in the app. When it finishes, the printer is ready to use.
Before you order a head: eufyMake's procedure assumes support has already confirmed the old head is damaged. If you're still under warranty or a Care plan, contact eufyMake first. A replacement may be covered (see warranty below).

eufyMake E1 white ink tips

White UV ink is heavily pigmented, so it's often the first colour to show weak or patchy coverage when maintenance slips.

  • A good habit: print a little every few days rather than leaving the printer idle for weeks, and keep JetClean topped up so the automatic cleaning can run.
  • Weak or streaky white? Run a cleaning cycle first, then check the scraper and ink pad before assuming the head is at fault.
  • Replace white on its own. E1 UV ink cartridges are sold individually at $34.99, including white and flexible white.

What E1 maintenance costs

Complete ink bundle V7240 (6 × 100 mL inks + JetClean) $229.00 Full restock

E1 printhead warranty and eufyMake Care
